Ronan Keating-This I Promise You

I've never had the chance to experience the first session of Labour's conference and, although I suspect my preconceptions may have been somewhat tainted by my preconceptions, it does seem a useful platform for the party's National Executive Committee to get to grips with the logistics of running a future general election campaign. The conference's decision to allow only accredited media to cover the opening fringe session makes perfect sense.
Cameron's position is untenable. It is not that he is unelectable, although he is. But his position is untenable because it is a position that is not in the interests of the British people. He has been in office too long. He has not delivered the policies that he promised. He has spent too much time building up his own personal wealth. He has not been good for the country, but he has been good for his image.
Next week Labour's conference will officially go into the conference mode. I am not going to be there: it's a week of meetings, not a fortnight of five-a-day feasts. I have no choice. To be honest, I am not looking forward to it. There are much more interesting things going on this week than the vague, shapeless traumas of Britain's backbenches.
Nobody could quite remember who he was. Oh well, you can't blame anyone for working out how to get to the dinner on a Sunday night - there was no accommodation for delegates in Brighton on that occasion. Can you believe that you could have a security guard checking a name and automatically eject the first person with the wrong surname from the venue?
The centre won't be ready until the autumn, but the conference organisers had the place decked out with a mock-up of the centre - and boy, does it make for a peculiar sight. What would you do if you were the Duke of Edinburgh, and you'd chosen as your centre a place that looks like a mock-up of a mock-up of a mock-up? I'd say that you had a sense of purpose. But I guess the Duke must have had a hand in it. 827ec27edc
