Zatch Bell! started as prequel story of the video game Zatch Bell! Mamodo Fury. It began as a one-shot manga, and then turned into a two-part one. The second part, Zatch Bell! Maryamamete, was not published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday on its monthly volume after the ending of Zatch Bell! series. The last issue of the Zatch Bell! series was published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday on its June 2008 issue. The manga was published in a print book called Zatch Bell! The Secret of the Seedbag Man, a collection of various (one- and two-shot) stories. The manga was finally ended in January 2019, after being shut down due to low sales.[79].
